Result U17 League Div 1 Kinsale 3 - 1 Douglas Hall ( 2- 1 HT) Beautiful day in Madden Park for the beautiful game. Douglas Hall started the day on top of the Div 1 Table. Kinsale had run DH close (2 - 3 loss) in the reverse fixture. Despite the adverse result the away match was a game which the Kinsale girls dominated for the most part and so they were determined this time around to exit with the proper score line. To say that the League Leaders did nt come to Kinsale expecting a win is possibly an understatement the measure of this was evident in the frustration of the DH players which unfortunately spilled onto the pitch one too many times during the game. This was mostly due to the hard work of Kinsale's Emma Jones, Jane Fehily, Ciardha McCarthy, Ali Brennan, Isobelle O'Brien and the fierce tenacity of Lauren Balaur and the irrepressible Sophie Peare. At the other end the goals came from Eimer Hayes, Kara Dillon and Lucy Carter but the work and skill of Amy Buckley, Ashling Webb, Fin Hayes and Captain Clare Cronin to create the scoring opportunities was superb. There is no team complete without a goal keeper in Aoife Roche we have both a fantastic shot stopper and a born leader. Aoife's instructions and advices are always on point and at least the girls listen to her!😁

A huge strength of this Kinsale team is that they they always speak with the ball at their feet and always remain respectful of their opponents even when that respect is not reciprocated. These girls are fantastic ambassadors for the Club and Women's football. Next game is v Riverstown on the 20th March at home.
